Generation of Projector Augmented-Wave atomic data: A 71 element validated table in the XML format
نویسندگان
چکیده
In the Projector Augmented Wave (PAW) method developed by Blöchl (1994), a PAW data file is needed for each element, taking the role of the pseudopotential file used with the norm-conserving or ultrasoft formalisms. In this paper, we review methods for generating PAW data files and for evaluating their accuracy, transferability, and numerical efficiency in simulations of bulk solids. We have developed a new set of PAW atomic data files for most of the stable elements in the periodic table. These files are provided in a standard XML format for use in any PAW electronic structure code. The new dataset performs well as measured by the ‘‘∆’’ evaluation criterion introduced by Lejaeghere et al. (2014), and also performs well in a modified evaluation scheme proposed in the present paper. © 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Ultrasonic guided waves reflection from simple dent in pipe for defect rate estimation and parameters determination of axisymmetric wave generation source
In this paper, the reflection of ultrasonic guided waves from simple dent in pipes has been investigated using finite element method and the relationship between reflection coefficient of these waves and deformation rate has been determined. Also, the effect of the parameters of wave generation source on the generated wave field has been investigated using normal modes expansion method. At firs...
متن کاملA Scalable Architecture for XML Retrieval
Whereas in classical text collections, documents are considered as atomic units, we consider in XML collections elements in documents. This augmented view increases the number of potentially retrieved objects. A retrieved object can be a document, an element in a document, an aggregation of elements or of documents or the whole collection itself. The increase in the number of objects to be inde...
متن کاملOrbital-Free Density Functional Theory Implementation with the Projector Augmented-Wave Method
We present a computational scheme for orbital-free density functional theory (OFDFT) that simultaneously provides access to all-electron values and preserves the OFDFT linear scaling as a function of the system size. Using the projector augmented-wave method (PAW) in combination with real-space methods, we overcome some obstacles faced by other available implementation schemes. Specifically, th...
متن کاملQuasiatomic orbitals for ab initio tight-binding analysis
Wave functions obtained from plane-wave density-functional theory (DFT) calculations using normconserving pseudopotential, ultrasoft pseudopotential, or projector augmented-wave method are efficiently and robustly transformed into a set of spatially localized nonorthogonal quasiatomic orbitals (QOs) with pseudoangular momentum quantum numbers. We demonstrate that these minimal-basis orbitals ca...
متن کاملThe Projector Augmented Wave Method: ab-initio molecular dynamics with full wave functions
A brief introduction to the projector augmented wave method is given and recent developments are reviewed. The projector augmented wave method is an all-electron method for efficient ab-initio molecular dynamics simulations with full wave functions. It extends and combines the traditions of existing augmented wave methods and the pseudopotential approach. Without sacrificing efficiency, the PAW...
